Hugi was born in Nicaragua and came to the United States at four years old. She grew up in Miami, became a citizen at eighteen, and earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2010, then spent twelve years improving the lives of her patients across acute care, rehab, outpatient and home health.

In 2016 she became a licensed realtor and, by night and on weekends, built a real estate portfolio that grew into a multimillion dollar asset base, enough to leave her corporate career in 2023 and live off her rental income full time. She began coaching other professionals on how to start investing in real estate, teaching the same strategies that had built her own freedom.

In 2025, while pregnant, that coaching became Wealthy by Choice, built first on the real estate investing fundamentals she'd already mastered. But becoming a mother made her think bigger. It wasn't enough to teach people how to build wealth if no one was teaching them how to protect and preserve it. So she spent the next year expanding WBC into financial services, becoming a licensed life and health insurance professional and certified Estate Plan Strategist in 2026, with her securities license currently in progress.
